“We will continue to trust the British government to fully implement the withdrawal agreement,” Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Adebahr told reporters in Berlin, currently head of the Council of the European Union. The UK`s withdrawal from the European Union affects the right of residence of British nationals and their family members in Germany. The most important elements of the draft agreement are: The United Kingdom withdrew from the European Union on 1 February 2020. In this context, the agreement on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community, known as the “withdrawal agreement”, which came into force and came into force on that date, was concluded between the EU and the United Kingdom. It applies to the whole of the EU, including Germany. The withdrawal agreement provides for a transitional period until 31 December 2020, during which time the UK will remain in the internal market, to ensure the smooth flow of trade until a long-term relationship is concluded. If no agreement is reached by then, the UK will leave the single market without a trade deal on 1 January 2021. The withdrawal agreement is closely linked to a non-binding political declaration on future relations between the EU and the UK. On 22 October 2019, the House of Commons agreed, by 329 votes to 299, to give a second reading to the revised withdrawal agreement (negotiated by Boris Johnson earlier this month), but when the accelerated timetable it had proposed did not receive the necessary parliamentary support, Johnson announced that the law would be overturned. The withdrawal agreement also contains provisions for the United Kingdom to leave the Convention setting the status of European schools, with the United Kingdom bound by the Convention and accompanying regulations on accredited European schools until the end of the last academic year of the transition period, i.e. at the end of the spring semester 2020-2021. Citizens of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland enjoy rights similar to those of EU citizens. The EU has agreements with these countries on very extensive residence rights.
If you are both a British citizen and a citizen of one of these countries, you should act as Jane does in our example. The agreement was revised as part of the Johnson Department renegotiation in 2019. The amendments amend about 5% of the text Immediately after the announcement of a revised withdrawal agreement on 17 October 2019, Labour, the Liberal Democrats and the DUP declared that they could not support the new agreement. The agreement also provides for a transitional period that will last until 31 December 2020 and may be extended by mutual agreement.
